View Four: Life on the plain
In the painting, the people appear to use a variety of weapons including counting coups, spears, and bows and arrows and use horses as means of transportation. There were lots of people lying down at the bottom of the painting, covered in red which is likely blood. Interestingly, at the left of the painting, there is a drawing of a person dressed in dark green clothes, which could be a woman due to long hair and angle-length clothing. Blackfoot people are skilled warriors on the plain. The painting described the warrior's bravery through the use of the counting coups and the defeat of the opposing side. Like many other Native Nations, they tried hard to protect their territories but failed to do so (Dempsey, 2019)
