  This exhibit explores four views of a nineteenth century women's saddle from the Nez Perce Nation. Saddlemaking was typically a female task, and the piece we are looking at is a very flashy design compared to other similar pieces.

  Four Views of a Parfleche Bag

  This Parfleche bag belonged to a Kainai Blackfoot man named Weasel Fat prior to 1884. Parfleche bags were made out of rawhide and used to carry and store personal belongings and food. They were often made in pairs and transported on either side of a horse.
