View 2: Design

Parfleche bags were typically painted with colors like red, blue, green, and black in a geometric design; similarly, parfleche containers have also been painted this way. Previous iterations of this bag were said to have designs resembling a map of the nearby lands while later versions of the bag’s design were meant to resemble mountains and rivers.

This type of design has stayed similar throughout nations and tribes for hundreds of years while the preservation of this particular design has been kept by elders teaching newer generations through oral teachings and practices for hundreds of years thereafter and so on.
