View Two: Lower Half

Zoomed view of a Blackfoot story robe, lower middle section

This view shows some details on the lower half of the story robe. Of particular interest are the bleeding figures, and the details that represent movement. There are two different groups of people on this section of the story robe, differentiated by color—yellow, and clear/uncolored. Many of the human figures colored yellow are followed by dotted lines, representing footprints from one area of the robe to another. These tracks appear to be leaving uncolored dead or injured bodies, and going to a more open area. These yellow figures appear to be victorious over the bloodied uncolored figures in this story, holding what may be celebratory objects, or perhaps depictions of scalps taken from the bodies each figure is walking away from.
