View Three: Upper Left

Zoomed view of a Blackfoot story robe, upper left section

These details come from the upper/middle left section of the story robe, and most noticeably include colorful horses and a yellow figure possibly in combat with a red-brown figure. The choices in color seem to further represent two separate groups of people—the  yellow-colored people (likely the ones who created or commissioned the robe) are victors, and the red-brown colored person is the enemy. One horse is yellow like the victorious figures, a color perhaps being used to represent heroism. It is unclear what tool is being used by the yellow figure who seems to have departed from the blue horse, but one interpretation of the way he touches the brown-red figure’s head may be that he is collecting his scalp.
