In this picture we see a close up view of the seat. The seat is traditionally made out of rawhide. Rawhide has been used traditionally in a lot of different saddles due to the reliability and comfort of the material. Interestingly as well, the art of saddle-making 

Within this tribe was traditionally a woman's undertaking, because they were the experts when it came to working with materials for crafting. This means that this saddle was likely made by the rider, so it has a custom fit and is designed to her exact specifications. This could be a reflection of their personality and interests, as well as a glimpse into what some of the work might have looked like, riding or saddle-making.
