View 3: The Arrows
The three arrows accompanying the other pieces are similarly made of yew wood, much like the bow itself. The fletching was made from bird feathers, as was common in most cultures worldwide until quite recently. The arrowheads are made from sharpened rock. Judging from the shape and size of the arrowheads, these arrows were likely made to penetrate small or medium-small game, such as hares, coyotes, or even smaller deer. Two of the three arrows have disheveled fletching, as well as chipped arrowheads, likely meaning they were used against targets at some point. The third arrow displays little of this wear, and was likely not used before becoming a historical artifact.
