View 2: The Bowcase and Quiver

The case for the bow and the quiver (which holds its arrows) are functionally the same item, as the quiver is woven directly onto the side of the bowcase. They are made out of deer hide and deer skin, with several beads stitched in as accessories. Similarly to the symbols etched into the bow itself, the patterns created in the lane stitch beadwork bear resemblance to the Pikuni Blackfeet language but have no lingual meaning. There are straps attached to the top and bottom of the case, which would allow it to be slung over one’s shoulder and offered freer movement while hunting smaller game.
